Sweet Girl 12″ x 12″ Mini Baby Book

Hi everyone!  Meghan here with a fun mini book that you can make with one full 12″ x 12″ piece of patterned paper, some card stock and a sweet Lawn Fawn stamp set and the coordinating dies.

Sweet Girl Mini Book

I found a step-by-step video for this easy to make mini album here.

I thought it would be nice to have a summary of the mini book construction measurements for you to refer to after watching the video:

1.  Score a 12″ x 12″ piece of patterned paper at 2″, 6″, and 10″.  I used a pink paper from Doodlebug’s Springtime Paper Pack.  Choose papers that do not have patterns that look best one way.  Random patterns work best for this project.

2.  Turn paper 90 degrees and score at 3″, 6″, 9″.

3.  Turn your paper so that the 2″, 6″ and 10″ score lines are vertical.  Cut up the center line stopping before you cut the last 3″.

Fold and adhere per the video until your book looks like this.

Sweet Girl Mini Book Inside View

The little cards inside are 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″.

The belly band is 1″ x 8 1/2″.  Fold around mini album with the ends meeting at the front.  Make sure you leave a little slack so that once the cards are added to the pockets it will still fit over the book.  Adhere together making sure that the ends meet at the front [you will be hiding the join with your stamped piece].

Trim a piece of card stock 2 1/4″ x 3″.  Trim a piece of white card stock 2 1/8″ x 2 7/8″.  Stamp grass with various ink colours.  Stamp, colour, and die cut bunnies from Hello Baby.  Adhere over grass.  Stamp, colour and die cut clouds from Hello Baby stamps and dies.  Adhere at the top.  Stamp sentiment from Hello Baby.  Adhere over belly band covering up the joined ends.  Add mini pom poms to bunnies for a fun dimensional element.

This book is so versatile.  Perhaps you could make this for a mom-to-be so she can include some pictures and journaling of her daughter’s first days and weeks.  It would be easy to change up the colours to make this work for a little boy.  I also thought it would be a fun card to give to a colleague at work from several co-workers.  Each co-worker could have one card to write their wishes on.  I hope you give this fun mini book a try!
