Last minute teacher gifts

Are you like me and are always needing a last minute teacher gift or a little something for your kids dance teacher? Here is a great way to use some wonderful scrapbooking papers and make a coordinating gift to go with the tag.

Istep 1

I fell in love with the papers from the Graphic 45 French Collection.  it had so many beautiful pages that it was really hard to decide what to do with them all. I choose the sunflower because you could do many different  applications with this one simple charm. I strung it on a necklace, but you can add it to a hair clip, or glue a magnet to the back of it.

The supplies I used were brown and yellow polymer clay and  2 different sizes of a circle cutter along with an teardrop cutter for the petals. Roll out the clay to your desired thickness and cut out a 1″ circle. I then cut out several teardrop shaped petals and started to layer them around the outer edge of the circle, I then added a second layer for some dimension. Once completed cut out a smaller brown circle to lay in the center. Attach an eye pin hook if you are going to use it as a charm by sliding it into the clay before you bake it. Bake according to instructions on the clay package. After it is cooled I added a little glitter to make it sparkle and clear coated it with some varnish.

final step

This paper collection has large prints and smaller ones that you can cut out and make into tags. My kids wrote  a special note on the back to their teacher and we are all set to give out our thank-you gifts for another great school year.  Check out all the coordinating products at Scrapbooks by Design.
